Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Villa Park currently seeks an experienced MRI Technologist (PRN) to join our onsite team. The role involves patient safety, pre-screening, imaging procedures, and post-procedure documentation as part of a supportive, patient‑focused imaging center.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited MRI certification program, ARRT/ARMRIT certified, with prior diagnostic radiology experience and CPR-BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program.
• ARRT/ARMRIT registered or eligible.
• Previous experience in diagnostic radiology/imaging setting.
• CPR-BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of MR technology and assist in quality control.
• Ensure patient safety with pre-screening for implants and necessary clearances.
• Sterilize and maintain equipment and room cleanliness; manage supplies.
• Administer aseptic injection technique for contrast.
• Explain MRI procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Position patients to obtain accurate imaging and document data in the chart.
• Ensure quality standards and participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.

What We Are Looking For

MRI Technologist (PRN)

Location: Onsite Villa Park

Days/Hours: Saturdays, 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Overview Of Key Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
• Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

Education, Experience & Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program
• ARRT/ARMRIT registered

• Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently
• CPR- BLS Certification
