Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures for diagnostic and research purposes in a clinical setting.

The role requires maintaining patient safety, adhering to ALARA principles, and ensuring accurate patient information and image quality. You will educate staff and assist with interventional procedures where needed, while complying with relevant laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Certifications: ARRT or ARMRIT in MR, or NMTCB with MR certification, upon hire.
• Education: Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of MRI procedures, safety protocols, patient care, and data evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Obtain correct patient information, ensure proper identification, and prepare patients for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize safety and quality.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
• Evaluate images for positioning and quality, verify data storage or transfer, and perform post-processing as needed.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with interventional procedures.
• Select pulse sequences considering established protocols and data acquisition factors.
• Apply safety principles to minimize risks to patients and staff, and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate commitment to departmental and organizational priorities.
