Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist for pediatric imaging. This full-time evening shift role focuses on high-quality MR studies and patient safety.

The MRI Technologist will perform complete imaging studies, assist radiologists, and ensure compliance with safety protocols while supporting sedation for pediatric patients in the MRI environment. Applicants should hold ARRT MR certification and FL radiography license.

Qualifications

• AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program completed.
• 3 years MRI experience in neuro, body, MSK and vascular areas.
• ARRT MR; Florida Radiography License; Current BLS.
• Strong computer skills with PACS and 3D post-processing.

Responsibilities

• Produces and evaluates MRI images per defined protocols to assist radiologist with interpretation and patient care.
• Adheres to Radiology policies on patient safety established by the hospital and governing bodies.
• Maintains education requirements pertaining to clinical, family, and patient-centered care.
• Screens patients for MRI contraindications and administers contrast in compliance with MR safety guidelines.
• Supports anesthesia staff to monitor sedated patients in the MRI environment.

POSITION SUMMARY: The MRI Technologist

performs complete and diagnostic Magnetic Resonance imaging studies of pediatric patients for radiologist interpretation.

Key Accountabilities

• Produces and evaluates images according to defined protocols to assist the radiologist with timely interpretation of imaging exams and patients for treatment and plan of care for patients
• Adheres to Radiology specific policies in regards to patient safety that are established by the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, regulatory, and accreditation governing bodies
• Maintains required levels of education that pertain to clinical, family, and patient centered care
• Protects and complies with Magnetic Resonance Zone safety possessing knowledge of restrictions and contraindications; screens patient for contraindications to MRI and contrast administration in compliance with ACR guideline for MR Safety
• Supports anesthesia staff in collaboration with Radiology nursing staff to prepare and monitor sedated patients in the MRI environment

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program
• 3 years’ MRI experience required in neuro, body, musculoskeletal and vascular areas
• A.R.R.T. (R) (MR); Florida Radiography License; Current Basic Life Support, AHA
• Strong computer skills in multiple databases for the acquisition and manipulation of image data, utilizing 3d, neuro-functional post-processing workstations, PACS and electronic charting
• MRI contrast administration with IV skills
