Job summary

Radiology Partners in Austin, TX, is seeking an MRI Technologist to maintain imaging protocols and perform daily QC on MRI scanners in accordance with ACR and Texas health standards.

You will conduct IV contrast injections, verify patient identity and medical history, and ensure images and notes are properly transmitted to PACS, supporting accurate radiology workflows.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA Council of Education radiologic technology program.
• ARRT or ARMRIT certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to perform intravenous injections.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain imaging protocols as directed by the MRI Coordinator/Lead(s).
• Perform daily quality control on MRI scanners as required by ACR, Texas health services, and credentialing bodies.
• Perform IV injections when contrast is needed following OSHA guidelines.
• Identify patients and review exam paperwork; obtain medical history.
• Ensure images are sent to PACS and tech notes are transmitted correctly.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Responsible for maintaining protocols as directed by the MRI Coordinator/Lead(s).
• Performs and maintains daily check‑ups and quality control on MRI scanners required by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the state of Texas Department of State Health Services, and any other credentialing organizations as required by law.
• Performs IV insertion when contrast is needed following proper guidelines as established by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
• Identifies each patient and reviews exam paperwork with the patient. Obtains appropriate medical history from the patient.
• Confirms that all images are sent to PACS per policy and procedures and verifies tech notes and required documents have successfully transmitted to PACS.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of a recognized, approved AMA Council of Education program in radiological technology.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must demonstrate ability to perform intravenous injections with proficiency.
• Must possess excellent communication and patient care skills.
