Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI scans, assess image quality, and support radiologists during procedures. The role requires patient interaction, contrast administration, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

The successful candidate will hold AMA-approved Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine training with ARRT/NMTCB certification within one year and maintain BLS certification, contributing to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced radiology department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine program; ARRT/NMTCB certification within one year of hire.
• Active ARMRIT or ARRT MRI registry eligibility or registration preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders before performing exams; ensures accuracy with Radiologist.
• Identify patients using two identifiers; explain procedures and document appropriately.
• Interview patients for medical history and review EMRs for pertinent history.
• Perform MRI scans and assist during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Administer IV contrast per protocol and record type/amount when requested.
• Maintain radiation safety for staff, patients, and visitors; report any equipment malfunctions.
• Provide basic patient care and respond to changes in patient condition; participate in code blue procedures when needed.
• Operate radiology computer systems including order entry and documentation of contrast in MAR.
• Assist other medical personnel (e.g., anesthesia) during exams; ensure clean, stocked work areas.
