Job description

Join to apply for the MRI Technologist (Casual) role at UPMC

UPMC Children's Hospital is hiring a casual MRI Technologist to support the MRI Department in Lawrenceville. The MRI Technologist will work approximately one 8-hour shift per week, primarily during daylight or evening hours, with a rotation for additional departmental support, including occasional overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts. No on-call hours are required.

The role involves performing imaging procedures independently, contributing to pediatric imaging, research, and expanding Cardiac MRI services. Candidates should be graduates of an ARRT-approved school or accredited program, with required certifications and licensure, including MRI registry within 18 months of hire and CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining clinical competency for exams and equipment
  • Proper patient identification and adherence to protocols
  • Reviewing patient history and physician orders
  • Documenting patient information and ensuring proper coding and archiving
  • Practicing MRI safety and interacting professionally with patients and staff
  • Performing procedures for review, processing, and archiving images
Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program or equivalent
  • Shift availability
  • Certification in ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS
  • CPR/BLS certification
