Job summary

Mercyhealth in Rockford, IL seeks an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI examinations with emphasis on patient safety and comfort. You will operate MRI equipment, ensure proper positioning, and administer contrast when needed, while maintaining zone safety and accurate documentation.

The role requires ARRT MR pathway or ARRT MR credential within 2 years, ARMRIT if MR not held, and CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program or accredited MRI training program.
• 1–3 years experience preferred; new graduates considered.
• ARRT (MR) pathway required upon hire or ARRT (R) with MR credential within 2 years.
• ARMRIT credential required upon hire only if MR credential not held.
• CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures under licensed practitioner orders with safety focus.
• Maintains MRI safety practices and zones I–IV; ensures patient comfort.
• Operates MRI system, coils, gating devices, and power injector.
• Assists with interventional procedures and documents in EMR/PACS.
• Initiates basic life support and provides patient care throughout exams.
