Job summary

South Texas Health System seeks an experienced Magnetic Resonance Imaging technologist to produce high-quality MRI exams. You will perform daily quality control, select appropriate coils, screen patients for contraindications, and verify orders with radiologists when needed.

You will interact with hospital staff, maintain performance skills, and may work weekends, holidays, overtime, or be on-call as required.

Qualifications

• 2 years prior Magnetic Resonance Imaging and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
• ARRT Certification (MR) or ARMRIT in Magnetic MR Imaging.
• Must demonstrate commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality MRI images and perform daily quality control checks.
• Select proper coils for procedures and report MR unit issues to supervisor.
• Screen all patients for contraindications to MRI and IV contrast.
• Evaluate orders and verify with radiologist when needed; ensure correct exam.
• Interact with hospital staff regarding patient care and concerns; maintain performance skills.
• Routinely works weekends, holidays, overtime, and/or on-call as needed.
