Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners for diagnostic imaging. The role involves positioning patients, selecting imaging techniques, and ensuring image quality under supervision.

The position requires one year of related MRI experience, strong communication, and knowledge of safety protocols including IV starts and contrast administration. Must be capable of QA tasks and handling various MRI peripherals.

Qualifications

• One year of related MRI experience is required.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and IV starts.
• Ability to assess situations and choose appropriate actions.

Responsibilities

• Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for physician diagnosis and treatment.
• Transfers, positions and instructs patients regarding the procedure.
• Selects imaging techniques; operates console and peripherals; enters and monitors patient data.
• Transfers images from disk to media to produce transparency.
• Develops film in automatic processor and inspects quality.
• Performs quality assurance on MRI equipment and related devices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
