Job summary

Brown University Health’s Miriam Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate the MRI unit and produce diagnostic images while assisting patients and radiologists. You will calibrate, position patients, screen for safety, and ensure high-quality imaging using MRI technology.

The role requires ARRT MRI certification, knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, and proficiency with MRI software and image management systems. Excellent patient communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized MRI technology.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
• MRI certification through ARRT; new grads may obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with cross-sectional anatomy and computer operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and calibrate the MRI unit for daily operation.
• Screen patients and obtain informed consent as needed.
• Position patients for imaging to obtain satisfactory examinations.
• Operate MRI equipment and verify quality of images for radiologist interpretation.
