Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta seeks an MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams per protocol on various body parts, ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will screen and prepare patients, document histories, and manage supplies while verifying orders and administering contrast when needed.

The role requires ARRT MR certification with AMA radiography training and BCLS; 1 year radiology and 2 years MRI experience are preferred, with a strong focus on teamwork and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiography program is required.
• RT and MR certification from ARRT is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as Radiology Tech and 2 years of MRI experience is highly preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• MRI must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Certificate
• Cardiovascular Technologist (CV Tech), or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams as per protocol on a variety of body parts in an efficient manner.
• Complete pre-exam screening, greet patients and assist with gowns, complete history forms, technologist exam sheet, stock rooms with supplies and check labs when necessary.
• Verify and follow doctor’s orders in patient charts, initials, start/remove IVs, and safely administer contrast media with power injector.
• Transport patients between areas, move patients on/off the exam table, prioritize exams for workflow, and communicate with physicians, staff, patients and families.

Education

AMA approved Radiography program

RT and MR certification from ARRT

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

MRI certification within 60 months from start date

Cardiovascular Technologist (CV Tech) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
