Job summary

Advocate Health’s Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center seeks a skilled MRI Technologist to join a five-scanner MRI team delivering a broad range of imaging procedures, including cardiac, neuro, body and musculoskeletal studies.

You will work 28 hours weekly, primarily four days, 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM, with on-call coverage every eight weeks and on-call rotation participation. The department emphasizes patient care, safety and collaboration with radiologists and technologists.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and magnetic safety.
• Proficient in IV and venipuncture.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Certification Addendum
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Operates MR equipment for basic to advanced diagnostic procedures (angiography, thoracic, abdomen, venous, cardiac, functional MRI, etc.).
• Obtains medical history, prepares and administers contrast media under Radiologist direction.
• Positions patient and selects scanning factors to obtain images; ensures safety.
• Post-processes images and labels files with patient info.
• Maintains records and documents billing codes.
• Performs QA tests and reports equipment issues.
• Serves as a resource and preceptor for students and staff.
• Collaborates with departments to educate on imaging processes.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting with proper safety techniques.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
