Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MR equipment for a range of diagnostic procedures, including musculoskeletal, neurological and body imaging. You will obtain patient history, manage contrast administration under a Radiologist, and ensure accurate image labeling and documentation.

Responsibilities include positioning patients, adjusting scanning factors, and maintaining regulatory safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and magnetic safety.
• Competent in IV and venipuncture (if required by facility).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members.
• Ability to work independently.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g.DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment for basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures (musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopedic imaging, arthrograms, body imaging, small joints).
• Obtains patient history and verifies exam requests; prepares and administers contrast media under Radiologist direction.
• Positions patient and selects scanning factors; ensures magnet safety per regulatory guidelines.
• Post-processes images and correctly labels images with patient data and location.
• Maintains records and enters study information into radiology information system; documents billing codes.
• Performs equipment quality assurance tests and reports malfunctions; evaluates new products.
