Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a MRI Tech for the Irving, Texas center to perform high-quality MRI exams and ensure patient safety. The role may be filled at level 1, 2, or Sr depending on candidate experience, with responsibilities spanning patient screening, contrast administration, and image processing.

Ideal candidates hold an ARRT credential, an associate degree in radiologic technology, and current IV/CPR certifications, with at least three years of MRI experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
• Minimum three years experience as a MRI Technologist.
• Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.
• Current IV and CPR certifications required.
• Certification in MRI.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality MRI exams on incoming patients.
• Ensure patients are properly screened for safety concerns and/or contraindications for MRI exams.
• Monitor patient's wellbeing during exams; responds to discomfort and take appropriate action.
• Guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering questions.
• Respect a patient's right to refuse the examination.
• Respond to physician questions regarding patients.
• Maintain MRI unit and report needs; ensure preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Assist in patient movement to and from the wheel chair, bed or gurney.
• Ensure scans follow established protocols and only upon order of a licensed professional.
• Teach MRI skillsets to fellow technologists.
• Perform cleaning duties within the MRI work area to maintain infection control.
• Acquire and process exam images; daily data entry.
• Administer contrast as needed, safely and effectively.
