Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking an MRI Technologist to support a fast-paced clinical environment and maintain a high level of patient care. You will position patients, administer contrast, and ensure safety while adhering to center protocols.

The role requires MRI scanning experience, ARRT/MRI and CPR certifications (ARMRIT accepted at some locations) and the ability to work extended computer use and patient mobility support. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• MRI scanning experience is required.
• MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications required; ARMRIT accepted at some locations.
• Sits for long periods and uses a computer.
• Assists patients with mobility difficulties.
• Some locations require on-call rotation.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Inform patients about exam details at their understanding level.
• Position patient for comfort and safety during the exam.
• Perform scans according to center protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast when required.
• Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide films/CDs to patients or radiologists as needed.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to credentialing policies and training requirements.

What You Will Do

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to center's protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
• Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.
• Contrast administration

What You Need

• This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.
• Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills. ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties
• Some inpatient locations may require employee's to participate in a call schedule/rotation
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
• Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
