Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking an MRI Technologist for a 36-hour/week on-site role at our Shrewsbury St campus. The technologist will support high-quality imaging services, ensure patient safety, and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, administering contrast, data entry, and coordinating with radiologists. Prior MRI experience and ARRT/ARRT, CPR certifications are required or accepted at some locations. Physical requirements apply.

Job Description

This is a 36-hour/week opportunity for an MRI Technologist at the UMass Memorial - Shrewsbury St campus with the following schedule: Week 1: Tuesday 2:30p-6a, Thursday 2p-10:30p, Saturday 6a-6:30p Week 2: Sunday 6a-6:30p, Tuesday 2:30p-6a, Thursday 2p-10:30p

What you will do

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding. Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort. Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol. Administer intravenous contrast. Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam. Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program. Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate. Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise. Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed. Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.

What you need

• This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.
• Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills.
• ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Some inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotation.
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
• Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position. The incumbent will perform work of a lower or equivalent classification as required or directed, and work of higher classification for training and development purposes or as situationally warranted.
