Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health in Camden, NJ is seeking an MRI Technologist to screen patients prior to MRI procedures and perform scans according to Radiologists' protocols. You will begin studies, transfer images, document patient histories in EPIC EMR and PACS, and ensure safety and quality across examinations.

ARDMS eligibility and an Associate degree or equivalent are required, with BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year MRI experience preferred (general, vascular, portable).
• ARDMS eligible and SPI exam prerequisites.
• Graduate of an accredited Sonography program.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients prior to MRI procedures for safety concerns.

Short Description

An MRI Technologist interviews and screen patients prior to MRI procedures to ensure there are no safety Concerns/contraindication. Performs MRI procedures following the protocols established by Radiologists. Begins studies, transfers images, documents patient history and completes studies in EPIC / EMR and PACS system

Experience Required

General, Vascular, portables, 1 year experience preferred.

Education Requirements

Associate degree or Equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Sonography school or program of Sonography

License/Certification Requirements

ARDMS Certification Requirements:Candidates must obtain ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers)certification within six months of their hire date.

Eligibility for the six-month grace period:Applicants must have successfully completed the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) exam. Documentation of a passing grade for the SPI exam is required as a prerequisite for approval of the six-month period to obtain the ARDMS certification.

Additional Certification preferred: RVT

Expected training in elastography, thyroidectomies, pediatrics (echoencephalpgraphy, hips, spines), PVRs, TCDs, GYN exams, and all vascular exams (arterial and venous duplexes, dialysis grafts, extremity mappings, carotids, abdomen venous, etc)
