Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an MRI Technologist for 30 hours per week at our Crystal Lake location. You will perform diagnostic MRI imaging, ensure patient safety, and coordinate exam flow while maintaining accurate documentation in the patient record and imaging systems.

The role requires a Radiology Technologist Program graduate with ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification (or 10+ years of relevant experience) and BLS certification, with shifts including some evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification within 12 months of hire or 10+ years directly relevant experience in lieu of certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process.
• Produces diagnostic-quality MRI images using approved protocols and standards.
• Applies professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy and monitors patients as needed.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains documentation in EPIC and Visage with exam setup and charging accuracy.
