Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures, prepare and document medications, and ensure patient safety and compliance with regulations. The role includes supervising students and collaborating with licensed practitioners to achieve accurate diagnostics.

Required ARRT MR or equivalent certification with ARMRIT or NMTCB credentials. A Radiologic Technology program graduate is needed; a related Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification requirements upon hire (ARRT MR or equivalent)
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program—Radiologic Technology
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct patient identification and preparation for exam, document clinical history and maintain confidentiality.
• Apply imaging protocols and optimize technical factors while prioritizing patient safety per ALARA.
• Prepare and/or administer medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluate image quality and verify data storage/transfer; post-process when applicable.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
