Job summary

Shields Health Care Group in Massachusetts seeks an MRI Technologist to support a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment. You will deliver patient-centered care, operate MRI equipment, and ensure high standards of safety and comfort. Requirements include MRI scanning experience, ARRT certification and CPR; ARMRIT accepted at some locations.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across shifts are essential. Pay ranges from $40 to $60 per hour, with benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Inform the patient about exam procedures to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of contraindications and hazards.
• Position patient accurately and ensure comfort during the scan.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scans in accordance with center protocol and administer IV contrast when needed.
• Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry program and forward films/CDs to Radiologist.

What you will do

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to center's protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
• Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.

What you need

• This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.
• Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills. ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.
• Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Some inpatient locations may require employee's to participate in a call schedule/rotation.
• To push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
