Job summary

Akumin is seeking an MRI Technologist for our Santa Cruz facility. This full-time role focuses on patient safety and high-quality MR studies while maintaining clear communication with radiologists and staff.

The position may involve training new technologists and patient coordinators, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and reliability in imaging workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS registry is required for MR credentials.
• State license radiologic technologist or MR technologist if applicable.
• CPR certification is required.
• Active state driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications.
• Produce high quality MR images.
• Order supplies, clean unit, assist in transport preparation.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and customers.
• Train new technologists and patient coordinators.

Position Overview

We are currently hiring for an MRI Technologist at our Santa Cruz facility. This will be a full time position.

Regional resource responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality MR studies. Insures effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Orders supplies, cleans unit, assists in preparing for transport on a daily basis.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
• Registered Technologists by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS
• State License Licensed Radiologic Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Technologist, if applicable.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves State license, as required.
• CPR certification.
• Active state driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.

The estimated hourly pay range for this role in California is $59.63- $73.84. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, location, and other factors such as internal equity and budget.
