Job summary

Akumin is seeking an MRI Technologist for our Danbury facility. The role emphasizes patient safety, high-quality MR imaging, and collaboration with radiologists and staff. On-site and remote work are possible, with opportunities to train new staff and support multiple MRI systems.

The position requires ARRT MR certification or equivalent, CPR, licensure as applicable, and the ability to work across locations. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• CPR certification and state license where applicable.
• Three months supervised MRI experience or enrollment for more than six months in MRI training.
• MR registered technologist: no experience required.
• Ability to work at several locations and strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking abilities; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and perform high-quality MR studies on site or remotely.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, teammates, patients, and customers.
• Train and orient new technologists, coordinators, and assistants on site or remotely.
• Operate multiple MRI systems and handle administrative duties as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

This will be a Full Time position.As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies, on site and/ or remote. Ensures effective communication with Radiologist, team members, patients, and customers for those who work in the mobile environment. When required, trains, and orients new technologists, Patient Coordinators and/or MR Technologist Assistants.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique and may require remote MR Technologists Assistant oversite.Produces high quality diagnostic images.
