Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI examinations per Radiologist protocols and to maintain a safe, well-prepared imaging suite. You will operate MRI equipment, prepare rooms, and assist with scheduling and patient transport under the Medical Imaging Management Team.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT and BLS certifications; AMA-approved training in Radiologic Technology is required, with an MRI registry preferred and expected within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required or in progress
• BLS certification required
• Graduate of AMA approved school or Radiologic Technology
• MRI registry preferred (required within 1 year of hire)
• Experience as MRI technologist preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations following radiologist protocols.
• Operate diagnostic MRI equipment and prepare rooms with necessary supplies.
• Coordinate with Medical Imaging Management Team on scheduling and safety.
• Transport patients and order supplies, manage inventory and cleaning.
• Ensure patient and staff protection from magnetic field and adhere to safety measures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:

Technologist performs MRI examinations with protocols as outlined by the Radiologist. Operates diagnostic MRI equipment, and prepares the room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure. Duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling, transporting patients, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning, and anything deemed necessary by the MedicalImaging Management Team. Technologist is responsible for the Protection patients and staff from the magnetic field, including but not limited to all safety measures. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.
