POSITION SUMMARY:

• Provides magnetic resonance imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients.
• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Implements MRI safety standards
• Prepares for and assists the physician and anesthesia staff in procedures, including interventional procedures.
• Prepares and administers contrast media within the scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Minimum:

• Completion of accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• OR Completion of the ARMRIT program

Preferred:

• Experience as a hospital MRI technologist

**Must provide copy of diploma/degree for highest level of education obtained**

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Minimum:

• Certification by ARRT in Radiology or current ARMRIT certification.
• Current license from IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency).
• MRI certification required within 24 months of hire if going through the ARRT program
• CPR certification required within three (3) months of hire.

Preferred:

• ARRT certification in MRI

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Preferred: Two years of clinical experience
