Job description

Join to apply for the MRI Technologist role at Akumin.

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies. You will ensure effective communication with customers, including radiologists, and may train new technologists and Patient Coordinators.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques.
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Ordering supplies, cleaning the unit, and assisting in preparing for transport daily.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and radiologists.
  • Training new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification as allowable by contract.
  • State license, if applicable.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license, if applicable.
  • 6 months of clinical MRI scanning experience if not certified in Magnetic Resonance.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
Physical Requirements:

May include exposure to outside weather, magnetic fields, blood, and body fluids. Tasks include sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movements, and lifting patients.
