Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL, is seeking an MRI Technologist to provide high-quality MR imaging and patient care in a busy radiology department.

Applicants must have ARRT MR, Florida CRT, BLS, a 2-year Radiologic Technology program, and 1–3 years MRI experience. The role requires on-call duties and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a 2-year Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school.
• 1–3 years MRI Technologist experience.
• Clear active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
• Valid ARRT (R) + ARRT (MR) credentials.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong organizational, verbal, interpersonal, mathematical, and computer skills.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong and thorough knowledge of all MRI and associated equipment.
• Obtain high-quality MR images ensuring optimal films for interpretation.
• Select, prepare and administer contrast material as needed.
• Position patients and ensure modesty and safety during procedures.
• Document clinical information prior to exams and complete required MEDITECH fields accurately and on time.
• Maintain communication with patients, radiologists and care team.
• Check equipment operation and maintain cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination.
• Keep rooms stocked with necessary supplies.
• Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities to provide optimum patient care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

MRI Technologist duties include but are not limited to:

• Demonstrate a strong and thorough knowledge of all MRI and associated equipment
• Obtain high-quality MR images assuring only optimal films are submitted for interpretation
• Facilitate the MRI procedure by selecting proper technical factors/techniques to accommodate all patients and select, prepare and administer the appropriate contrast material
• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
• You will check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases
• Keep room(s) stocked with necessary supplies
• Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care

Qualifications
