MRI Technologist - PRN - Ocala, FL

Role Overview

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist is responsible for coordinating and completing daily procedures, including prioritizing operations, conducting exams, and completing all necessary documentation. Responsibilities include following physician orders, ensuring quality imaging, patient care, radiation safety, QC/QA tasks, managing schedules, maintaining competencies, equipment QC, and other duties as assigned.

Experience

Minimum of one year of experience performing diagnostic procedures in a hospital or outpatient setting with proven scanning abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Proficient use and maintenance of MRI equipment.
  • Conduct MRI examinations, including those requiring contrast agents.
  • Manage patients during complex MRI procedures with competence and empathy.
  • Follow instructions and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Perform scanning, labeling, and address QA issues promptly.
  • Adhere to radiation protection and dose reporting policies.
  • Collaborate with other technologists to ensure departmental productivity.
  • Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including starting IVs and administering contrast.
Requirements
  • Ability to conduct examinations for patients of all ages.
  • Competency in PACS processes and daily QA procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to patient care.
  • Proficiency with MRI technical equipment.
  • Adherence to radiation safety guidelines.
  • Up-to-date vaccinations, health screenings, drug tests, and background checks.
  • ARRT(MR), MRT state licensure, and BLS certification.
  • Valid Driver's License and insurability.

Supervision

Reports to Regional Manager.

Work Environment
  • Requires driving to client locations.
  • Perform MRI duties at various sites.
Physical Effort
  • Lift 50-100 lbs, including patient handling and equipment movement.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and physical flexibility are required.
Public Contact

Involves interaction with patients, staff, and doctors, requiring professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills.
