OVERVIEWPerforms MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic imagesPerform advanced MRI imaging procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional care throughout the exam process. This role operates specialized MRI equipment, administers contrast media, maintains strict MRI safety standards, collaborates with physicians and radiologists, and performs complex imaging studies while supporting patients, students, and healthcare team members.Schedule: Two, 12-hour shifts; one, 8-hour shift; call rotationShift: 7am- 7pm; 8am-4:30pmThis position is eligible for a sign-on bonus!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation.Prepares patient for proceduresMaintains knowledge of current MRI safety practices and utilizes such as part of daily practice. Assumes responsibility for persons entering Zones I-IV.Provides patient instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.Applies principles and policies of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others.Reviews patients’ clinical history ensuring that appropriate scan is ordered and labs are within range- reviewing with radiologist and/or provider as necessary.Selects and operates the magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve desired results.Reports and documents MRI safety incidents/ adverse events per protocol.Positions the patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability, safety and comfort.Immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination.Selects appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.Starts and maintains intravenous access, to include power injectable implanted ports/specialized linesAssist with medical record/image sharing as necessary.Operates MRI scanner, associated equipment, and power injector to produce cross section images of patient anatomy for diagnostic purposesDocuments all information pertinent to MRI procedure in electronic medical record to include medication reconciliation.Verifies consent/screening form for all entering Zone IV. Prepares and administers contrast media orally and intravenous maintaining aseptic techniqueAssists the physician with interventional procedures.Provides practical instruction to students and partners.Evaluates images and data for technical quality.Manipulates and reconstructs digital data for display, ensuring proper identification is evident.Ability to perform independent high-level MRI studies such as but not limited to;
