Position Highlights
- Full-Time; 40 Hours
- Hours: M-F 11:30am-8pm, occasional shifts from 8:00am-5:30pm. Two weekend days per month from 7:30am-4:00pm. Holiday and Travel as needed

Performs a variety of complex diagnostic MRI procedures, primarily responsible for completing diagnostic studies from start to finish under the radiologist's direction. Responsibilities include routine MRIs and MRAs, taking accurate verbal patient histories, starting IVs, and administering IV contrast. Maintains a positive imaging environment and acts as a patient liaison to the radiologist.
Responsibilities
- Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas
- Ensures proper MRI safety standards are met
- Ensures all ferromagnetic materials are outside the scan room
- Explains emergency shutdown procedures
- Demonstrates fire and safety evacuation procedures
- Checks patient transfer/transport equipment for safety compliance
- Operates MRI equipment according to established protocols
- Completes necessary protocolling tasks
- Performs examinations according to MRI protocols
- Properly identifies patients using three unique identifiers
- Introduces self to patient with name and role
- Explains procedures in layman's terms and provides educational aids if needed
- Allows time for patient questions and feedback
- Verifies MRI screening forms and validates information
- Starts IV access and injects media under physician supervision
- Selects appropriate IV site and equipment, performs venipuncture following safety guidelines
- Prepares and administers IV contrast as per protocols
- Records injection parameters and monitors injection
- Documents any infiltration or reactions
- Prepares and positions patient for imaging to ensure high-quality images
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited MRI program
- ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(MR), or ARMRIT Certified Technologist
- BLS, AED, and Pediatric CPR certification
- Minimum one year MRI experience
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs
- Manipulate MRI coils, tables, and equipment
- Reach heights over 6 feet
- Assist in patient transfers
- Good eyesight and hearing for patient observation and communication
- Sufficient dexterity and multitasking ability
- Stay composed and positive under stress
The compensation range for this role is $32.65-$49.00 per hour, with actual pay based on skills, experience, education, certifications, location, and internal factors. Additional incentives may include shift differentials and bonuses.
