Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or CNMT/ARMRIT/ARDMS program.
  • ARRT registry eligible with ARRT within 6 months of hire.
  • MR registry required within 18 months of primary registry; if hired with MR registry already, within 18 months.
  • BLS/CPR required and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clinical competency and perform imaging procedures with independence.
  • Identify patients with two identifiers and apply universal protocol.
  • Review orders, apply departmental protocols, and manage contrast labeling/prep.
  • Document patient history in electronic records and communicate with physicians.
  • Ensure proper coding, RIS documentation, and archiving in ISITE/Rad systems.
  • Maintain MR safety and collaborate with team to expedite patient care.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and address fears or concerns.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 with a 2-year work commitment.

Candidates will be hired into appropriate level of the career ladder based on education, experience, and leader discretion.

Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
  • Identify all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures.
  • Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data including the labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast.
  • Document patient history in electronic record as required.
  • Prior to start of exam, read and present all relevant information to the physician based on protocol.
  • Ensure all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all patient information is updated and documented in Rad Assessment, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.
  • Practice and maintain MR safety in the department.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect.
  • Able to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
  • Perform procedures for reviewing, processing and archiving.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.
Required:
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT or ARDMS program.
  • ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date.
  • MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained.
  • CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date.
  • MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained.
  • CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • If working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
  • ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
