Job Summary

Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment safely and accurately to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. Work includes preparing and operating MRI equipment, positioning patients correctly, recording diagnostic images, and sending results to physicians. Work is performed under strict safety, regulatory, and departmental standards.

Accountable for aseptic techniques, maintaining equipment quality control, and continuing education in physics, anatomy, techniques, and medical terminology.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Prepares equipment for imaging tests based on physicians’ orders, ensuring quality results.
  2. Verifies proper operation of equipment, sets imaging parameters, processes images, and displays results.
  3. Selects protocols to tailor scans, ensuring high-quality images.
  4. Ensures supplies are available and cleans equipment after use.
  5. Prepares patients, explains procedures, and responds to questions.
  6. Positions patients and provides immobilization to ensure proper visualization.
  7. Interprets tissue contrast patterns and adjusts protocols as needed.
  8. Maintains records, logs, and prepares cases for interpretation.
  9. Transfers images to PACS and maintains documentation.
  10. Performs general office duties such as scheduling, filing, and inventory management.
  11. Assists with patient flow and equipment supplies.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiological Technology program.
  • ARRT certification required; ARRT MRI certification preferred.
  • State of Washington Radiological Technologist license required unless ARRT(MR) achieved via Primary Pathway.
  • Current BLS certification.
Pay Range

$45.05 - $68.71/hour
