Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Lorain is hiring an MRI Technologist to perform routine MRI exams for patients of all ages. You will ensure comfort, safety and clear communication throughout the imaging process, while using the latest MRI technology.

The role requires ARRT/ARMRIT credentials, MRI certification within one year, BLS, and prior radiologic experience. On-site schedule typically includes days at the Lorain facility with supportive colleagues and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include ARRT/ARRT credentials and BLS.
  • MRI Certification within one year of hire is required.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.
  • One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data to determine contraindications.
  • Perform MRI procedures per protocol and conduct daily QA.
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Report malfunctions and observe equipment issues requiring service.
  • Maintain equipment uptime for patient access.
  • Process billing via RIS.
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and radiology students.
  • Attend in-service programs and professional sessions.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
Registered Technologist credentialed by ARMRIT or ARRT (R.T.(R), R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT))
Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA or American Red Cross
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
One year experience as General Radiologic Technologist
Registered Technologist credentialed by R.T.(N) (ARRT) or CNMT pathway

A caregiver in this position** worksdays, from 7:00am—3:30pm or 8:30am—5:00pm.**

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Acquireand review patientquestionnaire,chartand data/requisitiontodeterminecontraindication of having MRIexamination.

  • Perform MRI proceduresrequiredper protocol and perform daily QA.

  • Educate patientsregardingMRI procedures, equipment, and exams.

  • Ensure patients’ comfort and safety during and after the exam.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)

  • Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) (requiredwithin one year of hire)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

  • Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
