WHITE PLAINS, NY

Full Time

Radiology MRI

Varied Mon-Fri varied. Weekends as needed

Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Adheres to established standards of care. Pursues appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to established customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Exercises professional judgments in performance of procedures. Provides patient care.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities Include:

  • Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors
  • Prepares and positions patients correctly for examinations, observing specific requirements for each protocol, including proper documentation on images and questionnaires
  • Produces high-quality images, reviews scans for quality and completeness
  • Assists physicians during procedures as necessary
  • Performs quality assurance and equipment calibrations
  • Works in emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department
  • Maintains cleanliness of all areas, reports malfunctioning equipment
  • Prints patient CDs if needed
  • Performs routine office duties, manages EMR and PACS systems, checks previous reports
  • Notifies front desk upon exam completion
  • Assists radiologists with images and reports, documents communication
  • May serve as instructor or preceptor
  • Educates patients and families about procedures
  • Provides care appropriate to patient age and condition
  • Attends staff meetings and in-services
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate from accredited radiography program
  • Certified by ARRT or ARMRIT, with ARRT MR certification within 1 year
  • NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit
  • Maintain continuing education credits (24 ECE credits over two years)
  • BLS certification through AHA or within 90 days of hire
  • IV certification preferred or completed during orientation
  • Annual MRI safety certification level 2

  • Move within MRI zones to access equipment and patients

  • Communicate with patients regarding their care and billing
  • Observe and inspect employees and patients
  • Move and position patients for MRI exams
  • Potential exposure to chemicals, refer to SDS for details
