Job Title: MRI TechnologistDepartment: RadiologyLocation: Rochester General HospitalHours Per Week: 40 hrsSchedule: 10hrs, Nights, Friday -Monday, 9pm -730amAdditional Compensation: Weekend/Overnight and Acute Care IncentiveSUMMARY:As an MRI Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality greatly enhance the overall success of MRI imaging for diagnostic use in patient care in RRH Radiology. Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety.Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintains a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam.Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts.Provides on-call coverage for the MRI Section of Radiology.Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the Radiant Care Connect EMR.Cleans, restocks, and prepares rooms on a daily basis.Provides excellent customer service.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Two-year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent.NYS license in Radiologic Technology (or) must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment.American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) within six months of employment.Effective 7/16/2018 - NYS Injection Certification within six months of employment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Prior Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to work in various software applications are preferred.Exceptional customer service and communication skills preferred.EDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - NYS Office of ProfessionsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee’s physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.PAY RANGE:$34.25 - $45.25CITY:RochesterPOSTAL CODE:14621The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
