UVA Imaging in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for our outpatient imaging team. The role offers a full-time schedule with no call and no overnight shifts, and the chance to advance MRI skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include performing routine and advanced MRI exams, ensuring patient safety, operating equipment, administering contrast when needed, and collaborating with radiologists to deliver high-quality images.

Qualifications

• Up to 5 years experience as an MRI Technologist.
• Associates Degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
• Must be ARRT in Radiography or ARRT/ARMIT MR registry; MR advanced registry required for IDTF centers; MR registry within 12 months for non-IDTF centers.
• Must meet state licensure requirements for the practicing state.
• Knowledge of MRI protocols, anatomy, and related radiopharmacology.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

• Up to 5 years experience as a MRI Technologist

EDUCATION:

• Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT. MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
• Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
