Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital as an MRI Technologist performing routine MRI exams on patients of all ages. You will ensure comfort, safety and informed consent, while leveraging cutting-edge imaging technology to deliver world-class care.

This role offers day shifts from 7:00AM–5:30PM or 9:00AM–7:30PM with on-call requirements, and a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. You will work alongside dedicated caregivers in Stark County within the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or ARRT pathway
• ARMRIT/ARRT or CNMT certification in good standing
• MR Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) within 1 year of hire
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologies

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.
• Acquire and review patient questionnaire, data, and requisition to determine contraindications for MRI.
• Verify and validate the patient screening safety form.
• Perform MRI procedures per protocol and conduct daily QA.
• Perform venipunctures.
• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Assist with scheduling patients.
• Administer contrast related to MRI exam.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Complete after-hours transmission of images and paperwork.
• Immediately report malfunctions and potential equipment issues.
• Maintain equipment uptime for patient accessibility.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Potentially rotate through imaging modalities/sites.

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds, and conditions. You will ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and properly informed throughout the entire process, helping facilitate a welcoming and supportive experience. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 5:30PM or 9:00AM - 7:30PM, with on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.
• Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
• Verify and validate the patient screening safety form.
• Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.
• Perform venipunctures.
• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.
• Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Assist with scheduling patients.
• Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
• Immediately report any malfunctions, observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or call for service.
• Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)
• Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) (required within one year of hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
• Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.25

Maximum hourly: $53.00
