Responsibilities

1. Operate a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat pathologies.
2. Prepare and position patients, select anatomic and technical parameters to produce cross-sectional images.
3. Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to examinations.
4. Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images, and develop films as required.
5. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
6. Ensure high-quality images and proper documentation are sent to PACS.
7. Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report issues.
8. Maintain a clean and organized department environment.

Minimum Requirements

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire.
• One of the following credentials:
  • Cardiographic Tech (CCI)
  • Radiologic Technologist in Sonography (ARRT)
  • Radiologic Technologist in MRI (ARRT)
  • Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (ARRT)
  • Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of relevant experience.

Schedule & Benefits

• Monday-Friday, 9:30 am - 6:00 pm, with standby call every third week.
• Location: UAB St. Vincent's East
