The City of Apopka is a close-knit community near Orlando, reflected in our hospital which benefits from AdventHealth’s advanced medical resources while maintaining a warm, community-based environment. We offer a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency care, radiology, robotic surgery, and a recently expanded Cardiac unit, equipped with the latest technology to meet your needs. Our mission is to extend the healing ministry of Christ through compassionate, advanced care that puts patients first.

The role you’ll contribute:

The MRI technologist works under the supervision of the lead technologist, supervisor, manager, director of special imaging, and radiologist. Responsibilities include imaging neuro and body scans on patients from neonate to geriatric, following age-specific guidelines, transmitting images for diagnosis, and updating the hospital computer system. The MRI technologist actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

  • Performs MRI exams using FH protocols, properly identifies patients, and educates them about the procedure.
  • Completes exams efficiently, maintains workflow, and manages patient transport and discharge.
  • Operates MRI equipment safely, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols as needed for patients of all ages.
  • Properly screens individuals entering the MRI facility for contraindications, maintains a clean and organized room, and performs QA on magnets within ACR guidelines. May include handling pharmaceutical waste following proper procedures.
  • Reviews and repeats MRI images as necessary for quality, and uses the computer system for exam management and documentation.
  • Assists in data collection for KPIs and quality improvement projects, and utilizes service recovery techniques to enhance patient satisfaction.

What You Will Need:

Required:

  • ARRT – MR, CT, or R certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred:

  • Current State of Florida license as a General Radiographer
