Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI imaging with a focus on patient comfort and safety. The role requires collaboration with radiologists, staff, and physicians to deliver high-quality imaging services.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT MRI certification, is state-licensed as a radiologic technologist, and has completed a JRCERT-approved program with prior MRI experience. CPR/BLS within 30 days of starting is required.

Qualifications

  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT) required.
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician.
  • CPR/BLS within 30 days of start date.
  • Graduate of a 2-year JRCERT Radiologic Technology program (AD/BS preferred).
  • MRI certification and prior MRI experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains good relations with staff across departments.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with shifts and call rotation.
  • Performs MRI imaging with quality and safety.
  • Assists radiologists and physicians as needed.
  • Ensures timely service and patient comfort throughout imaging.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The MRI technologist produces diagnostic quality images using MRI system and related equipment. The technologist must provide quality patient care while consistently adhering to the Departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures.

What you will do in this role:
  • Maintains a good working relationship with all staff members.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule as required. (i.e. alternate shifts, call rotation, etc.)
  • Demonstrates initiative (Can work independent without need of constant supervision or direction.)
  • Responsible (Completes assigned tasks, duties, etc.)
  • Punctual (Arrives at work on time on a consistent basis.)
  • Dependable
  • Observes universal precautions and other health and safety rules of the department as well as those of the Medical Center.
  • Participates in continuing education essential the field and for the betterment of the patient.
  • Demonstrates good patient care skills.
  • Communicates in a positive compassionate manor to all age groups.
  • Able to modify job duties as necessary.
  • Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain using age appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain HIPPA compliance.
  • Maintain Imaging QA requirements. (<1% error rate)
  • Consistently ensures prompt timely service to all outpatients.
  • Monitors Patient Tracker consistently to make sure patients are not waiting excessively.
  • Works to always meet or exceed patient’s expectation for fast efficient and compassionate service.
  • Maintains clean environment.
  • Cleans equipment as required.
  • Sanitizes equipment between each patient contact.
  • Consistently uses kind words, salutations, smiles, etc promoting a friendly approach during all patient interactions.
  • Consistently wears identification badge while at work. (<1% non compliance)
  • Takes call according to schedule.
  • Completes all work before clocking out and leaving.
  • Assists the radiologist and or other physicians as necessary.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Graduate of a 2 year JRCERT program in Radiologic Technology. (AD or BS preferred.)
  • MRI certification
  • Previous MRI experience required
