Job summary

Akumin is seeking an MRI Technologist Trainee to learn MRI safety, customer service, and documentation under a registered technologist. You will help screen personnel, assist with scans, and ensure compliant patient records across Akumin locations.

The role emphasizes on-the-job training, flexibility to travel locally, and a commitment to patient-centered imaging services within a national network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate from college or technical school or enrolled in Radiology program.
• Actively enrolled in an accredited Radiology or MRI program + CPR certification.
• Local travel may be required; able to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Pre-screening of personnel before entering scanning room.
• Scans and documents patients under supervision of a registered technologist.
• Completes documentation for patient files per policy and Joint Commission requirements.
• Other duties as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certificate from college or technical school

Actively enrolled in Radiology or MRI program

CPR certification

Local travel may be required

Ability to work at several locations

Strong customer service skills

Organizational and multi-tasking skills

Basic knowledge of computer applications
