Job summary

System Support seeks an MRI Tech-Hosp within the Medical Imaging unit in Centerville. The role involves independently performing MRI with contrast, ensuring safety, and coordinating patient flow around the MRI scanner.

You may also support other imaging modalities as needed and could have on-call duties. Required are a diploma in Allied Health with MRI coursework, BLS within 30 days, and ARRT or ARMRIT registry eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Allied Health with MRI-related coursework or completion within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: Associate degree or multi-modality program with MRI board certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs MRI using proper techniques and administration of contrast media.
• Coordinates patient flow and MRI scanner activities with emphasis on MRI safety.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition and exercises professional judgment.
• May perform procedures in other imaging modalities as needed.
• May have on-call responsibilities.

General Summary/Responsibilities

Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of his/her duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Education

• Minimum Level of Education Required: Diploma Program
• Additional requirements:
• Type of degree: Allied Health
• Area of study or major: Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire
• Preferred educational qualifications: Associate degree, graduate of an accredited program or currently enrolled in a multi-modality program with board certification in MRI.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire
• MRI registry preferred
• ODH licensure preferred
• ARRT RT (R) registry or ARMRIT registry required

Experience

• Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
• Preferred experience: One year MRI experience preferred
