Job summary

System Support in Centerville, OH seeks an MRI Tech-Hosp to operate MRI equipment at Miami Valley Hospital-South. The role focuses on high-quality imaging, contrast administration, patient safety, and coordination of patient flow. On-call duties may be required and the position offers a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications include a Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences, ARRT MRI registry or ARMRIT, and BLS within 30 days of hire. Prior MRI experience is preferred but not required.

General Summary/Responsibilities:

Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of his/her duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

• Area of study or major: Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire
• Preferred educational qualifications: Associate degree, graduate of an accredited program or currently enrolled in a multi-modality program with board certification in MRI.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire
• MRI registry preferred
• ODH licensure preferred
• ARRT RT (R) registry or ARMRIT registry required

Experience

• Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
• Preferred experience: One year MRI experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills:
