Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a MRI Technologist to join our imaging team on rotating shifts. You will perform MRI procedures, care for neonate through geriatric patients, and support education of student technologists.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist (R).
• Maintains active registry status in ARRT.
• Maintains Iowa Permit to Practice (ISRT or SCD).
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures on scheduled shifts including emergency call back; operate MR equipment.
• Provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Educate and counsel patient/family about health issues and care plans.
• Maintain open communication with staff, physicians and other departments.
• Instruct, supervise and evaluate student technologists.

As a MRI Tech at MercyOne, you will:

• Perform MRI procedures on scheduled shifts including emergency call back, operates MR equipment
• Provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Provide patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems
• Maintain open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments
• Instruct, supervise, and evaluate student technologists

Schedule:

• 40 hours a week
• 10 hour shifts
• Varied shifts

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program
• Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist (R) Maintains active registry status in ARRT
• Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice Participants in professional society (i.e., ISRT or SCD)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire
