Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging in a diverse patient population under supervision of a Radiologist.

You will follow imaging protocols, position patients, and apply quality control measures in line with ACR guidelines while delivering excellent patient care and education.

Qualifications

• AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited program is required.
• No experience required; 6 months as MRI Technologist preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT radiography registration required at hire; Basic Life Support (BCLS) required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in MRI procedures for patients of all ages.
• Positions patient, selects correct protocol, and uses imaging equipment.
• Follows established imaging protocols and performs quality control per ACR guidelines.
• Provides age-appropriate patient education and communication.

Responsibilities

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required

Work Experience

• No experience required
• 6 months as an MRI Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (R) Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
