Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist. You will care for patients across all age groups, ensuring protocol adherence and imaging quality.

Applicants must graduate from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or a JRCERT-accredited training program. ARDMS or ARRT certification and BCLS are required on hire; 6 months MRI experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited training program.
• No experience required; 6 months as MRI Technologist preferred.
• Licenses: ARDMS or ARRT in Radiography; BCLS certification on hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in performing MRI procedures on patients of all ages.
• Positioning patients and selecting the correct protocol for each exam.
• Follow imaging protocols and perform quality control per guidelines.
• Provide age-specific patient care and education.
• Maintain competency in non-scanner components and equipment.
• Position and operate imaging equipment for radiographic exams as requested.

Responsibilities:

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

• 6 months as an MRI Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (R) Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
