Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI exams across neonatal to geriatric patients, under Radiologist supervision.

You will position patients, select protocols, and ensure imaging quality per ACR guidelines while educating patients and families. No prior experience is required, though 6 months MRI experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program (required).
• No experience required; 6 months as MRI Technologist preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT Radiographer Registration upon hire required; BCLS upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures on patients of all ages following established imaging protocols.
• Position patient, select correct protocol, and operate imaging equipment.
• Maintain competencies across non-scanner components and follow ACR guidelines for quality control.
• Provide patient education and ensure age-appropriate care.

Responsibilities:

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

Education

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required

Work Experience

• 6 months as an MRI Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (R) Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
