Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI procedures and provide patient care across all age groups. You will follow established imaging protocols, ensure quality control, and educate patients as part of a multidisciplinary radiology team.

The role requires graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited training, and ARRT/ARDMS registration with BCLS certification on hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program (Required)
• No experience required
• 6 months as an MRI Technologist Preferred
• ARDMS or ARRT radiographer registration required upon hire
• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all MRI procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

Responsibilities:

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. MR technologists perform diagnostic magnetic resonance examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
