Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an MRI technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring patient identification, safety, and proper protocol adherence. The role involves assisting with interventional MRI as needed and teaching students and staff.

Candidates must meet ARRT MR and ARMRIT/NMTCB MR credential requirements, demonstrate ALARA adherence, and contribute to quality-improvement efforts within a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• ARRT MR certification required at hire.
• NMTCB MR or ARRT-MR credentials preferred.
• ARMRIT certification recognized as eligible credential.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order, patient identification, preparation, and confidentiality.
• Optimizes imaging protocol and ALARA principles to maximize patient safety.
• Assists licensed practitioner with MR interventional procedures as applicable.
• Performs MRI procedures and evaluates images for quality and proper positioning.
• Educates and mentors students and other health care professionals.
• Selects appropriate pulse sequences per established protocols and data acquisition parameters.
• Maintains commitment to department priorities and participates in quality/process-improvement activities.
