Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MR imaging and data analysis under licensed supervision. The role includes patient identification, safety, and adherence to ALARA principles, with responsibilities covering patient preparation, imaging, data handling, and education of staff and students.

Required ARRT-MR, NMTCB, or ARMRIT certifications, and a minimum of 2 years' related experience. A radiologic technology specialty training and a related bachelor’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required).
• Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Required).
• ARRT MR certification and/or NMTCB/ARMRIT credentials listed for hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety (ALARA).
• Preparing and/or administering medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and quality and verifies data transfer and archival.
• Educates and monitors students and health care providers.
• Apply MR safety principles to minimize risk to patient and staff.
• Assist licensed practitioner with MR interventional procedures.
• Perform MR imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Select pulse sequences considering protocols and data acquisition parameters.
• Participate in department priorities and quality/process improvement.
