Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency in Pittsburgh seeks an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging using magnetic resonance technology, ensuring accurate data acquisition for interpretation by licensed practitioners. You will independently conduct MRI procedures, prepare patients, and follow regulations for medication administration.

Key responsibilities include optimizing protocols, adhering to ALARA safety, evaluating image quality, storing data correctly, and educating students and healthcare

Qualifications

• Certification from ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
• Completion of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Obtain correct patient information, ensure proper identification, and prepare patients for imaging exams.
• Utilize appropriate protocols, optimize technical factors, and prioritize patient safety following ALARA principles.
• Administer medications through vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and verify data storage or transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Apply MRI safety principles to minimize risks and assist with interventional procedures.
• Select suitable pulse sequences and participate in MRI safety and implant approval processes.
